Smt.Santhi Medicherla is an accomplished Carnatic classical vocalist in the Metro Atlanta area.  She completed her Master’s degree in music from Sri Padmavathi Mahila University, Tirupati and Bachelor’s degree in music from Sri Venkateswara College of Music and Dance, Tirupati. 

 

She learnt classical music from renowned vidwans late Sri Dr. Mohan Rao, and Sri Dr. Prapancham Sitaram and vidushis late Smt. Dr. M. Suseela Janaki and Smt. Dr. Dwaram Lakshmi.  She also underwent special training in Annamacharya krithis under the guidance of Sri Dr. G Balakrishna Prasad.

Smt. Medicherla has been teaching Carnatic classical music in the US for over 20 years.  She has performed in many classical music concerts across several US cities and several Kuchipudi arangetrams in the Metro Atlanta area. She has trained over 300 students in Carnatic Classical music.

Prior to coming to the US, Smt.Medicherla was a music teacher at Navodaya Vidyalaya, Rajampeta in Andhra Pradesh.  She was a B-Grade artist on Doordarshan and All India Radio.  She was also a semi-finalist at the first season of the ETV Padutha Theeyaga competition.  She was also the lead singer on several devotional music private albums.
